Moments of Solitude

Well tonight i am in a very good mood and would like to surmise on an excellent word...

We all want to spend quality time with ourselves. We all would like to pamper our selves with pure unadulterated indulgence. Don't we? Don't we want a space where there would be nobody to meddle in our affairs, nobody to instruct us and so, most of all where none of our worries will nag at us.
Just give it a thought..
Haven't you ever wanted to spend your whole day doing nothing but just lying on bed or moving around lazily absent mindedly?
Haven't you ever wanted to spend some time just sitting lazily on a beach under an umbrella and tanning your skin?
Or for that matter reading your favourite book by the seaside?
Or haven't you ever wanted to climb a high hill and just lie there gazing at those fabulous stars at night?
And isn't this state of bliss given a beautiful word 'SOLITUDE'?
So what is your idea of solitude?
Here is mine...
Tonight i had night shift in the office and since i wasn't feeling well, i left the office early at 2 am. As i was about to reach my home i did an unusual thing...
Instead of taking left for my apartments I went straight to the highway NH24, which luckily runs behind the sector where I stay. I was driving my dad's Zen and the moment rubbers touched the highway I hit the accelerator pedal to the floor and lo I was flying. The car was doing 140 Km/hr (& it wouldn't go beyond that) and I was zip-zap-zooming past the traffic. I think that tonight the God was unusually benevolent on me as to add to the thrill, the skies opened and it started to rain heavily. And to tell you, its altogether a different adventure to drive at crazy speeds on wet roads in torrential rains. I continued to drive for another 50 kms before taking the U-turn though reluctantly. So it was a fun-filled 100 kms of fantasy ride in that inclement yet wonderful weather.
This is SOLITUDE to me...
Going on long drives all alone...Because that is the time when i really don't think of anything or anyone and the speeds and the silence transport me to a perfect state of bliss..
Hope you enjoyed the journey though vicariously.
